The diesel engine’s software possibilities

To get more power and better drivability from a turbo diesel engine, we remap among other things the injection maps, SOI Start of injection, torque limiters, “driver’s wish”, boost pressure and rail pressure.

Turbo diesel engines will gain more torque earlier and save fuel, as the engine works more efficiently and can be driven at a lower average engine speed.

Modern diesel engine management systems are very advanced and make it possible to find potential in many different settings. Everything from adjusting fuel quantity and torque limits to setting injection angle, boost pressure, rail pressure, thermal limits and more.

The engine can be mapped for a sharper character towards higher revs, or the other way around, shifting the torque curve to get power earlier at lower revs.

We can remap the torque across the rev range to the customer’s wishes, and can map lower torque in the lower gears or, for example, protect the driveline by keeping torque lower at low revs.
